Dystocia increases with advancing maternal age

Article Abstract:

The influence of maternal age on obstetric indices to uterine efficiency in spontaneous nulliparous labor is examined in order to determine whether increasing maternal age is more commonly associated with dystocia. The results have shown that the indices of dystocia have increased progressively with maternal age, although oxytocin augmentation has proved an effective intervention in all age categories.

Quality of life and continence 1 year after the tension-free vaginal tape operation

Article Abstract:

Changes in condition-specific and generic quality of life (QOL) and continence rates in patients one year after tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) operation for stress urinary incontinence are evaluated. Observations reveal that the TVT operation is associated with improved condition-specific QOL in women with stress urinary incontinence.

Urinary incontinence and age at the first and last delivery: The Norwegian HUNT/EPINCONT study

Article Abstract:

The association between maternal age at the first and last delivery and urinary incontinence later in life is investigated. The results have shown that being older than 25 years at the first delivery is associated with incontinence and that the effect actually attenuates with actual age.
