Emergency measures

Article Abstract:

The Royal College of Nursing and the Department of Health in the UK agree that there is too much pressure on resources in National Health Service accident and emergency (A&E) departments, but also that there is no easy solution. While a working party will produce a review of measures used by trusts to ease the burden of admissions in A&E departments, one trust, the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust, has stated that it will close its A&E department to new admissions if admissions rise to too high a level.
