Essential drugs save lives

Article Abstract:

The World Health Organization's (WHO) Action Programme on Essential Drugs helps developing countries draw up a so-called 'essential drugs list,' aimed at providing adequate vital drugs to millions of poor people. WHO maintains that leaving the drug supply to market forces can only lead to more deaths, and the concept of the essential drugs list helps manage the distribution of drugs.
