Exercise and aging update

Article Abstract:

University of Southern California in Los Angeles associate professor of exercise science Robert A. Wiswell is engaged in a long-term study on the relationship between exercise and aging. Incomplete study results indicate improvements in cardiovascular and muscular conditioning at any age.

The aging process can be slowed down by a regimen consisting of weight and flexibility training. Such exercise an routine should focus on the development of muscle groups and be undertaken three times a week. It is necessary to increase weights and intensity but at a gradual pace.
