Finding your specialty

Article Abstract:

The choice of the kind of nursing to specialise in is one of the most crucial career decisions a nurse would make, as the range of disciplines on offer is what makes the profession special. Therefore, while choosing one's specialty one needs to think about who one is and what one wants from nursing as it is important to consider the strengths and weakness and what fields actually interest.

Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date patient notes is an essential and critical part of nursing practice, despite work pressures and responsibilities of additional specialized and autonomous roles. Some of the key factors involved in keeping high quality of nursing records are discussed in addition to some suggestions for the ways in which nurses can improve these skills.

Breaking bad news

Article Abstract:

The conversation of the bad news to patients and relatives is an inevitable part of the job, for anyone who chooses a career in nursing. The right and wrong ways to inform the bad news to patients are discussed and it is suggested that communication is one of the effective tool for this purpose.
