From chemical warfare to breast cancer management

Article Abstract:

Elwood V. Jenson, who is in the department of Biology, Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati, Ohio, talks about his professional life that started from a research in Swiss and reached to a medical faculty in Chicago. From 1950's, he joined researches regarding breast cancer and later discussed antibodies to estrogen receptor and the therapy for breast cancer.

An issue of tissues: divining the split personalities of selective estrogen receptor modulators

This article dwells on the importance of understanding nuclear receptors, its coregulators, and the whole gamut of research surrounding the selective estrogen receptor modulators to be able to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for treating endocrine diseases, including breast cancer.

c-MYC induces mammary tumorigenesis by means of a preferred pathway involving spontaneous Kras2 mutations

Article Abstract:

The human c-MYC oncogene that induces mammary tumorigenesis progresses through a preferred secondary pathway that involves Kras2. Deregulating c-MYC expression produces invasive mammary adenocarcionomas, many of which regress when c-MYC is deinducted.
