Otosclerosis: untimely hearing loss

Article Abstract:

An abnormal growth of bony tissue in the middle ear that immobilizes structures and results in hearing loss is called otosclerosis, which falls under the category of conductive hearing loss. The treatment options include waiting and watching, while hearing aids and a surgery called stapedotomy being the other options.

Multiple sclerosis: treatment is shifting

Article Abstract:

The treatment of multiple sclerosis is shifting from managing the symptoms to treating the disease involving inflammation affecting the brain, optic nerves and spinal cord. The initial symptoms include vision problems with muscle weakness, numbness, and balance and coordination problems arising later.
