MicroRNAs as therapeutic targets

Article Abstract:

A study has demonstrated that inhibition of a specific microRNA, miR-122 that is highly expressed in liver can be therapeutic in mice. MicroRNAs can be used as therapeutic agents for diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hepatitis as they can regulate malignant cells, insulin secretion, viral infection, and the neuronal phenotype.
