Here's to 1,000 brave innovators

Article Abstract:

UK health professionals should offer encouragement and support to up to 1,000 nurses who have taken the chance to become part of an innovative new health care delivery system. Primary care groups consist of a wide range of nursing skills, offering patients the very best care which is nurse-led. Each primary care group is responsible for up to 180,000 people, with the emphasis on providing the best care possible. The new care groups will not succeed without support from the rest of the medical profession.

We're in this together

Article Abstract:

The UK National Health Service (NHS) needs teamwork, as is the case of soccer. Lack of teamwork is one reason why UK junior doctors tend to work too many hours. There is also a need to include nursing lecturers in the team so that their priorities are the same as the rest of the team. There is a need to establish goals and be consistent in focusing on them. Criticism should be responded to in a positive way. Teams should also be able to include people with special gifts, as is the case with soccer.
