Latin-America: worker incidents increase in Argentina

Article Abstract:

Argentina's Labor Risks Supervision office has reported an increase of 20% in on-the-job injuries and illnesses for the year 1998-1999. The effects of lost work days on the economy are discussed, with an estimated loss by the Clarin newspaper of over $1 billion.

Height doesn't matter

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning research into the relevance of the height in death and injuries caused by falling are discussed. It is emphasized that height is irrelevant to the degree of the injury and that the risk of falling increases with age.
