Improvement of medicines management in hospitals

Article Abstract:

The concept of medicines management is discussed and the advantages of having a nurse as the project facilitator are highlighted. The hospital medicines management collaborative, which is an 18-month program, is assisting in raising its profile and encouraging staff members within the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust to address issues regarding medicines management within their departments and involve patients and carers.

Multidisciplinary meeting in medical admissions

Article Abstract:

The discharge process for patients can be improved by introducing multidisciplinary working in a medical admissions unit. An attempt is made to focus on the impact that establishing a regular multidisciplinary meeting has on the patient journey and length of stay at a medical admissions unit.
