Is hypotonic dysfunctional labor associated with hypophosphatemia?

Article Abstract:

A prospective nested case control study of term women who are in active labor is conducted in order to determine whether hypotonic dysfunctional labor is associated with hypophosphatemia. The findings indicate that although transient hypophosphatemia is found commonly in laboring women, hypotonic dysfunctional contractions are not associated with mild hypophosphatemia.

The use of needle biopsy for assessment of placental gene expression

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to test the hypothesis that placental samples that are obtained by needle aspiration ex vivo are useful for the determination of villus gene expression. Conclusion indicates that placental samples obtained by ex vivo needle aspiration are useful for the extraction of RNA and for the determination of villous gene expression.
