LR Ramsgate Linkspan statement

Article Abstract:

The collapse of a ferry walkway in Ramsgate, England, in 1994 was a dreadful and very regrettable accident, according to Lloyd's Register. This organization, which has been fined 500,000 pounds sterling for its share of the responsibility for the accident, has issued a statement emphasizing that it has a strong commitment to safety. It accepts that its role in the Ramsgate accident was significant, but also wishes to point out that other parties were involved. It undertakes many technical surveys every year in the marine, offshore, industrial and technical sectors.
