Mixed feelings

Article Abstract:

District nurses are often losing status or even their jobs as the result of skill-mix reviews which attempt to reduce the concentration of qualified nurses in a particular area, and for this reason they are very wary of these reviews. They believe that skill mix proposals put forward by managers will reduce the number of skilled nurses available, thus affecting standards of patient care, and that district nurses should become involved in reviews and emphasise the importance of their work. Skill mix practices in various areas are considered.

Management of space problems in the primary and mixed dentitions

Article Abstract:

Most children with tooth crowding should be treated between the ages of 10 and 14. This is when the primary molars are replaced by permanent premolars. During this time, the width of the mouth decreases slightly and crowding of teeth is likely to occur. If crowding is significant, one of the teeth may have to be removed.
