Computers and technology are increasingly part of health care, yet many nurses are not trained in these applications. Health care tends to emphasize cost over benefit, research funds are limited, and there is little nursing education infrastructure. Nurses who fail to adopt and use technologies that improve the quality of patient care risk being becoming generic health care workers.
