Leasing can put your practice in tune with technology

Article Abstract:

Changes in billing, insurance, and computer technology along with medical equipment innovations is a characteristic of the health care industry. The leasing of equipment offers convenience and economic advantages to medical practitioners. Existing equipment can be upgraded through leasing and allows physicians to pay for equipment while it is being used. The breadth of products available for lease is another advantage physicians may consider.

Don't run away from a colleague with substance abuse

Article Abstract:

Physicians have an obligation under American Medical Assn policy and to the doctor involved to intervene when a colleague has a substance abuse problem. They should first assess how serious the problem is and report the problem if the physician's patients are in danger. In less serious cases, physicians should gather information by discussing the situation discreetly with co-workers, and then confront the physician in question.
