Let's grow up

Article Abstract:

Nursing students feel that they are often still treated like children, even though many changes are being made in the way nurses are trained in order to empower future nurses. The traditional medical hierarchy is starting to break down, but there are still many fears and restrictive roles which are inhibiting the growth of the nursing profession. Students are reluctant to express imaginative ideas, and feel that positive change will not take place untl an atmosphere of trust, active facilitation and encouragement is created.

Nurses deserve equal treatment

Article Abstract:

The UK government is currently not treating nurses in all parts of the country equally. Nurses in the South East are receiving additional payments to compensate for high living costs, but the cost of living is also high in other parts of the country. It is now time for all nurses to be paid enough to afford decent accommodation.
