Modern dance with death

Article Abstract:

The New Zealand government is beginning to address the country's high rate suicide amongst young people, particularly young males. The suicide rate for males aged between 15 and 24, at slightly over 50 per 100,000 in 1995, is the highest in the world. The suicide rate for young females also increased by over 100% in two years to reach 34 per 100,000. Young Maori males have a particularly high suicide rate and some analysts believe the problem is caused by the breakdown of traditional Maori family and tribal values, and the loss of Maori identity, as Maoris move to the cities.
