Research suggests that anandamide modulates the emotional states and fatty acid amide hydrolase inhibition serves as anti-anxiety therapy. The isomer of anti-cholinesterase agent carbaryl inhibits the enzyme that is involved in the degradation of the cannabinoid anandamide thereby enhancing its level in the brain.
