More family doctors find PAs to be practice assets

Article Abstract:

The Philadelphia physicians are hiring physician assistant (PA) and employing them in some solo and group practices. The PA helps the physician plow through paperwork, handle follow-ups on acne and warts, review routine biopsy reports and allows them to have more time with patients.

Recertification process gets physician input

Article Abstract:

A 15-member liaison committee has started meeting to make recommendations for possible changes to recertification of internists. Physicians stated that board certification was necessary for their bottom line, failing to get certified could mean losing managed contracts.
