Nuchal translucency and fetal cardiac defects: A pooled analysis of major fetal endocardiography centers

Article Abstract:

The study aims to investigate whether fetal nuchal translucency distribution differs among different types of congenital heart defects and whether it could lead to an earlier diagnosis. Finding nuchal translucency of greater than or equal to 3.5 mm might lead to an earlier diagnosis of all major types of congenital heart defects.

Prenatal diagnosis of aneuploidy and deletion 22q11.2 in fetuses with ultrasound detection of cardiac defects

Article Abstract:

A prospective database evaluation of the occurrence of aneuploidy and deletion 22q11.2 after prenatal detection of cardiac abnormalities is reported. The results indicate that prenatal ultrasound findings of congenital heart defects identify fetuses who are at increased risk for chromosome abnormalities.

Prospective study of 22q11 deletion analysis in fetuses with excess nuchal translucency

Article Abstract:

A study to determine the frequency of 22q11 deletions in chromosomally normal fetuses with excess nuchal translucency was conducted. The results revealed that the routine 22q11 microdeletion analysis for fetuses with excess nuchal translucency was not indicated
