Participation in cancer clinical trials: race-, sex-, and age-based disparities

Article Abstract:

The representation of various groups with regard to race, ethnicity, age, and sex in the cancer trial, despite its diversity in the participants are discussed. The representation of racial and ethnic minorities, the elderly, and women in cancer trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute are characterized.

Molecular technologies for personalized cancer management

Article Abstract:

An effort to translate advances in molecular biology , bioinformatics and computing into tools that may improve the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of patients with cancer is discussed. The emerging genomic and proteomic technologies may help to individualize and improve the clinical management of cancer.

Clinical proteomics: personalized molecular medicine. (Linking Evidence and Experience)

Article Abstract:

The application of proteomics to the treatment of diseases is reviewed. Proteomics is the study of the interactions of proteins inside and outside cells. Most diseases are caused by an abnormal protein interaction.
