Patients, physicians fall short in optimal prevention of diabetes complications

Article Abstract:

Research providing the first national data on bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis in women in the US reveals high prevalence of these lesser-known and potentially serious sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), particularly among African American women. Experts stress the importance of raising awareness of these conditions among women and clinicians, including ensuring that providers understand the signs and symptoms of the diseases and are equipped to diagnose and treat them.
