Beyond the buyout

Article Abstract:

Group medical practice buyouts, if not carefully thought out, can turn out badly. Before selling their practice, physicians should ask themselves if they can coexist with their new partners, according to attorney D. Louis Glaser.

All aboard?

Article Abstract:

Many physicians who never bothered to seek board certification are now finding themselves excluded from managed-care plans, most of which now require all of their new physicians to be certified. Doctors may be able to overcome this problem by meeting one-on-one with plans' credentialing officials, seeking help from medical societies, or enlisting the help of satisfied patients.
