Pediatric society opposes independent practice of NPs

Article Abstract:

The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners has criticized American Academy of PediatricsE (AAPs) policy that includes independent practice of nurse practitioners. The AAP feels that more nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other nonphysicians are delivering health care to children without the oversight of a pediatrician, putting the safety of children at risk.

CaliforniaEs Stanford University School of Medicine requires that all its students should choose a scholarly concentration. Stanford officials believe that the concentration would allow students to develop an expertise in one particular area within the broad range of subjects required of all doctors in training.
