Physician scores on a national clinical skills examination as predictors of complaints to medical regulatory authorities

Article Abstract:

A study aims to assess whether patient-physician communication examination scores in the clinical skills examination predicted future complaints in medical practice. Results reveal that scores achieved in patient-physician communication and clinical decision-making on a national licensing examination predicted complaints to medical regulatory authorities.

Beyond advance directives: Importance of communication skills at the end of life

Article Abstract:

Advanced directives are proposed as a tool to facilitate end-to-life decision-making. The challenges in creating and implementing advance directives are reviewed and factors that can affect clear decision-making, like trust, uncertainty, emotion, hope, and others are discussed.
