The controversy surrounding indomethacin for tocolysis

Article Abstract:

More research is needed to determine whether the drug indomethacin has few enough side effects to be effective in stopping premature labor. Drugs that are used to stop premature labor are called tocolytic drugs. Indomethacin inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which cause the uterus to contract.

Predicting outcomes of trials of labor in women attempting vaginal birth after cesarean delivery: a comparison of multivariate methods with neural networks

Article Abstract:

A neural network was developed to predict which pregnant women with a history of a cesarean would be able to deliver vaginally and which would not. However, it was no more accurate in doing so than a standard multivariate model.

Obstetric outcomes in women with two prior cesarean deliveries: Is vaginal birth after cesarean delivery a viable option?

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to compare clinical outcomes in women with 1 versus 2 prior cesarean deliveries who attempt vaginal birth after cesarean delivery and to compare clinical outcomes of women with 2 prior cesarean deliveries who attempt VBAC or opt for a repeat cesarean delivery. This study confirmed that the risk of uterine rupture with a trial of labor is higher in women with two prior cesarean deliveries than with one.
