Prenatal diagnosis of amniotic sheets by magnetic resonance imaging

Article Abstract:

A report on prenatal diagnosis of an amniotic sheet by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented at 28 week's gestation. It is found that although prenatal diagnosis of amniotic sheets can be performed with ultrasonography, the wider field of view and excellent tissue contrast provided by magnetic resonance imaging may allow better spatial visualization of the amniotic sheet and, therefore, improve the diagnostic accuracy.

Evaluation of effectiveness of prophylactic cerclage of a short cervix according to interleukin-8 in cervical mucus

Article Abstract:

The study is carried out to compare rates of preterm delivery according to cervical mucus interleukin-8(IL-8) among women who underwent cerclage due to a short cervix. It is concluded that with normal cervical mucus IL-8, cerclage treatment for cervical shortening can reduce the rate of preterm delivery, but with elevated cervical mucus IL-8 cerclage might be harmful.

A unique case of conjoined triplets

Article Abstract:

A unique case of conjoined triplets that was characterized as tricephalus, tetrabrachius, and tetrapus parapagothoracopagus is presented. Antenatal diagnosis of the conjoined triplet was made at 22 weeks of gestation with 2-dimensional ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging.
