Healthy life-style can help prevent heart disease, and public policy should make healthy choices available. Governments are providing facilities for physical activity, regulating smoking, and encouraging the food industry to market healthy products.

Health through exercise - a law of nature

Article Abstract:

Exercise that makes a person breathe hard for at least twenty minutes at least twice a week strengthens the heart, lung and muscles, and keeps the body fit. Public agencies should provide exercise facilities and health education, and role models.

A van full of bikes

Article Abstract:

The Netherlands Heart Foundation and the Royal Dutch Touring Club co-sponsor Ride-a-Bike Vans to promote health in Holland. For a small fee, any group can hire the vans, which carry 72 white unisex bikes, adjustable for adults or children.
