Article Abstract:

Hospital administrators can utilize important procedures to foster employee morale, retain productive employees, and create a healthy working environment. Employee recognition is an important motivating force. Staff members must have opportunities to use their skills and work in a positive, supportive environment. Employers should establish reward and recognition programs that are simple and fair.

Nurse managers should avoid discrimination claims while interviewing job candidates as it can be considered as offensive. The different types of discriminations include illegal discrimination, age discrimination, marital status discrimination, gender discrimination, race and national origin discrimination.

Win-win strategies help relieve preceptor burden

Nurses are expected to percept a student along with their regular duties, which requires extra time and energy. Nurse managers should be aware of the most common stressors that result in nurse preceptors and use some strategies that result in win-win outcomes for the organization, staff and students.
