Recovery time

Article Abstract:

Nurses are likely to suffer short-term illness through exhaustion in early 1999 after working extra shifts to help hospitals cope with increased patient admissions following a flu epidemic in December 1998/January 1999. Some nursing officials urge health trusts to be sensitive towards staff who fall ill, while the UK government is simultaneously seeking to clamp down on sickness among National Health Service employees. Some trusts are offering staff additional days holiday to reward them for their hard work in dealing with the flu crisis.
