Renal cell carcinoma

Article Abstract:

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a major cause of neoplasms arising from the kidney and the disease often does not show any symptoms, but it can have paraneoplastic manifestations and also resists radiation or chemotherapy. Newer therapies are being discovered due to better understanding of genetic factors that influence the development and growth of RCC.

Surgical vs nonoperative treatment for lumber disk herniation: The Spine Patient Outcome Research Trial (SPORT) observational cohort

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to compare the surgical vs. nonoperative treatment for lumber disk herniation. Patients with persistent sciatica from lumbar disk herniation improved in both groups but those who chose operative intervention reported greater improvements than patients who elected nonoperative care.

Initial misdiagnosis and outcome after subarachnoid hemorrhage

Article Abstract:

Mortality and morbidity can be reduced if aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is treated urgently. The association of initial misdiagnosis and outcome after SAH is studied.
