Why sound safety programs fail

Article Abstract:

Accidents occur despite numerous safety measures undertaken by companies. Safety programs help minimize risks provided they are strictly implemented and given management support. Employee participation in planning and implementation is crucial to a program's success, since they have the highest risk of sustaining injury and are most familiar with job processes. Safety training facilitates the identification and elimination of potential hazards within the work environment.
