Selective drug taking during combination antiretroviral therapy in an unselected clinic population

Article Abstract:

The frequency, magnitude, associated factors and outcomes of selective drug taking during combination antiretroviral therapy are evaluated. The results indicate that the factors most closely associated with selective drug taking are the presence of an adverse drug event and clinical outcomes appear worse in these patients.

Efficacy and immunologic responses to Influenza vaccine in HIV-1-infected patients

Article Abstract:

The clinical efficacy and immunologic responses to the influenza vaccine, which is recommended for HIV-1-infected patients, is investigated. It is, then, correlated with the immune response to the vaccine as determined by increased antibody titer and/or hemagglutinin (HA)-specific CD4 T cells.

Modified Dynabeads method for enumerating CD4+ T-Lymphocyte count for widespread use in resource-limited situations

Article Abstract:

The Dynabeads method showed the potential for enumerating CD4+ T lymphocytes in HIV-1-infected individuals. This method is simple, economic, and accurate enough to monitor antiretroviral therapy in resource-limited situations.
