Should junk food advertisements be banned?

Article Abstract:

The pros and cons of junk food advertisement are discussed in the form of debate. It is stated that such ads promote junk food eating habits of children which make them more fatter due to the intake of much salt, sugar and fat and on the other hand parents do not want a ban on such ads as they want to expose their children to realities.

Junk food is a loose description. By what do we classify junkfood? Is it the amount of fat or sugar or salts? Foi gras, an exquisite delicacy sold in top worldwide restaurants is made up of 80% fat, and as for duck l'orange, duck is one of the fattiest meats in the world!! It is not the individual aspects of a diet, but the diet itself. Nothing is a junk food unless eaten for an extended period of time without balance. But a 100% fruit diet would be a catastrophe as well. One man, who ate an apple a day, got his front teeth dissolved to stubs after the acid in the apple got to them. Dentists say the juices are the worst thing for children to have as far as their teeth are concerned.

Renal NSF sets standards to modernise services

Article Abstract:

New guidelines setting standards for kidney dialysis and transplantation is discussed. These guidelines were published by the Department of Health in its first part of its National Service Framework for renal services.

Issues related to Health Care Assists (HCA) regulations are discussed. Department of Health (DoH) prefers the Health Professions Council (HPC) as it will minimize the cost of regulating the HCAs.
