Take control of fall hazards

Article Abstract:

Effective fall hazard control entails the elimination of the hazard itself and the wise use of fall-arrest equipment. In using such equipment, attention should be given to several safety considerations. The use of lanyards, for instance, may cause potential problems to users if inactive lanyard legs snag on obstructions such as steel beams or flanges. Hence, the use of a horizontal lifeline is an alternative to the usual use of the lanyard. Aside from implementing fall-protection guidelines, workers should also be consulted for practical solutions to work-hazard problems.
