The risks of underwater birth

Article Abstract:

An extensive review of the medical literature on the complications that could be associated potentially with water birth is performed as well as the Cochrane review on immersion in pregnancy, labor and birth is investigated. Possible complications that are associated with water birth include fresh water drowning, neonatal hyponatremia, and neonatal waterborne infectious disease.

Postpartum cerebral angiopathy: an important diagnostic consideration in the postpartum period

Article Abstract:

The occurrence of postpartum cerebral angiopathy (PPCA) in the postpartum period is discussed. Nimodipine and short course of high-dose corticosteriods are useful for treating PPCA.
