What's happening to Britain's National Health Service?

The reforms of the UK National Health Service proposed by Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2000 are a gamble that may not pay off. Blair promised more money for the service, as well as more hospital beds, more doctors and nurses, and shorter waiting lists.

BritainEs National Health Service (NHS), a healthcare system is now being redesigned as a consumer service. Thus the NHS will have to change its strategy to cope with the constrictions in the budget.

The troubled transformation of Britain's National Health Service

Article Abstract:

The government's program for transforming the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and an analysis of the nature of the present crisis at NHS with respect to the government policies and its implementation process is discussed. The government's new model to improve efficiency should show a balance between the efficiency gains and increased demands, between destruction and creation by end of fiscal year 2007.
