Triggering myocardial infarction

Research focused on the initiating events or 'triggers' that qualitatively alter the stable or quiescent phase of coronary atherosclerosis is described. The triggering of acute myocardial infarction typically begins with the vulnerable or high-risk coronary atherosclerosis plaque.

Chronic kidney disease and the risk of death, cardiovascular events, and hospitalization

Article Abstract:

The multivariable association between the estimated glomerular filtration rate and the risk of death, cardiovascular events and hospitalization is examined. The findings highlight the clinical and public health importance of chronic renal insufficiency.

Exposure to traffic and the onset of myocardial infarction

The case of myocardial infraction identified from the data of Cooperative Health Research is presented. There may be increase in the risk of myocardial infraction by the transient exposure to traffic.
