Understanding the risks of the spread of the avian flu virus

Article Abstract:

The virus has spread outside Southeast Asia although no cases of avian flu are reported in the United Kingdom where cases of human infection with highly infectious and pathogenic H5N1 strain are reported to the World Health Organization. Nurses are likely to be asked about the risks of avian flu spreading to the UK, what steps should be taken to prevent or manage infection, and whether travel to affected countries is advisable.

Article Abstract:

Hypertension blood pressure is one of the most commonly monitored clinical indicators for a range of conditions including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, but one-third of sufferers are unaware they have it. Patients need to be empowered to take charge in a positive way that means involving them in finding a management plan that works for them holistically.

Implementing new guidelines on epilepsy management

Article Abstract:

Good management of epilepsy patients results in the reduction of seizures that in turn improve the quality and quantity of the person's life. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), UK has provided guidelines for the management of epilepsy in children and adults.
