Union-organizing doctor sues over firing

Article Abstract:

David Gran, MD stated that because of his efforts to unionize physicians in San Joaquin County, he was fired after 20 years of employment. Because of this and what he claims are untrue statements about him within the National Practitioners Data Bank, he filed suit with the California Public Remployment Relations Board. The board agreed, and the case is now on appeal with the California Court of Appeal. The case, however, has larger implications such as does a court have the right to intercede with the independent medical staff process.
