Article Abstract:

Institutional review boards are generally criticized for inconsistent-decision making with regard to clinical research. Systematic approach is provided by component analysis which recognizes that clinical research has a mixture of therapeutic and nontherapeutic procedures.

Article Abstract:

Clinical trials are being done to test if mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibition is useful in treating PTEN-null cancers. Studies have indicated that inhibitors of mTOR may find application in the treatment of early cancer lesions in human.

BBC apologizes for airing AIDS 'denialist' documentary

The BBC has apologized for airing a documentary claiming that HIV-positive orphans were exploited in clinical trials of AIDS drugs. The documentary 'Guinea Pig Kids' was about the views of AIDS denialists, who deny that the HIV virus causes AIDS.
