Women's willingness to participate in microbicide trials in northern Thailand

Article Abstract:

The authors report on the attitudes of women in Thailand who were asked if they would take part in testing vaginal microbicides. A few were definitely positive, but most, while positive, wanted to think it over. Those who were willing pointed to being tested for AIDS among the benefits. Those who were reluctant indicated fears that involvement in the test would make her husband or partner feel safer, and encourage him to have more sex partners.
