Entrepreneurship networks and high technology firms: the case of Aragon

Article Abstract:

High technology entrepreneurs in Aragon, Spain are usually characterized as having a Masteral degree, a self-employed father, and a work experience of nine years before establishing the company. The characteristic entrepreneur also has an age in the mid-30s when the company is established. Moreover, the success of the firm is attributed to several factors, including the number of co-founders, work development experience and a need for achievement.

Innovation cycles and flexible automation in manufacturing industries

Article Abstract:

Statistics gathered from manufacturing industries in Canada show that industries which are engaged in high-technology are automated to a greater degree than those engaged in other forms of manufacturing. Determinants of automation intensity are the level of technology and industry growth. These findings modify the conclusions derived from the application of the Utterback and Abernathy model.

University-industry relationships in peripheral regions: the case of Aragon in Spain

Article Abstract:

Previous studies have documented the growing scope and scale of relationships between industry and the academe in industrial countries. They have also attributed these relationships to changes in industrial organization in the national and international contexts. The process by which such relationships develop in Spain's Aragon region is presented.
