Violet Palmer, National Basketball Association referee

Article Abstract:

Violet Palmer became victorious in professional basketball in 1997, when she became one of only two female referees in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Palmer reached another milestone in April 2006 when, after an eight-season career in the NBA during which she worked more than 400 regular-season games, became the first female to officiate at an NBA play-off game.
