Tony Snow, White House press secretary

Article Abstract:

Former television commentator Tony Snow became the first professional journalist in three decades to assume the post of White House press secretary in April 2006, and his candor and self-deprecating style are garnering mostly praise. Media reactions to Snow's appointment are largely positive, and his move to grant the press corps greater access to a reputedly hyper-secretive White House is helping to foster open and authentic exchange with reporters.
