Palau features combat art work on new issues

Article Abstract:

Paintings from US military archives are used as the designs for the 60-cent sheetlets of commemorative stamps. The combat artists and their works are discussed. One picture, the work of William F. Draper, shows the dangerous task of getting attack torpedoes ready. Other stamps feature portraits.

Luxembourg's new releases include railway issue

Article Abstract:

A strip of three stamps honoring the 50th anniversary of the national railroad was issued by the Luxembourg postal service on Mar 4, 1996. The history of the rail service is recounted. Two other stamp issues honored the centenary of Grand Duchess Charlotte, and the industrialist Emile Mayrisch.
