Roy A. Mooney established a business around the lists of post offices that issued first day covers on July 1, 1971, when the US Post Office became semi-autonomous with a new name. The development of his business, REM Philatelic which was recently sold, is discussed.

Review of the Civil War stamps first day ceremony

Article Abstract:

The 20 stamps depicting personalities and battles from the Civil War were dedicated in a first day of issue ceremony on June 29, 1995 in Gettysburg, PA. The ceremony and the 20 stamps are briefly described. The artist for the stamps was Mark Hess.
