The late Japanese hybrider, Kazushiga Ozawa's work with neglected North American species, clematis led to the discovery of a wide range of distinctive and beautiful hybrids. The hybrids collection had a special place of honor in his garden, protected by netting and hand-fertilized in order to increase in stock.
