Roy Lichtenstein and Willem de Kooning both died in 1997 but while the market for Lichtenstein's work grew, the one for De Kooning's dipped. The works and lives of the two are discussed. Even though some artists weed out and destroy works to try and control their fame, taste is not predicable.
